This is a rare and unique sale of 35 Rai of west facing beach land on the private island of Koh Po (sometimes called Koh Por) and is located just off the south west coast of Koh Lanta in the province of Krabi in the Andaman sea.
This private island can be reached by boat from the main pier at Lanta Old Town on the south west coast of Koh Lanta which is just 2km away, or by private speed boat or yacht from Saladan (the main town at the north of Koh Lanta) and both Krabi or Trang.
Both Krabi Town and Trang have airports, and in the case of Krabi Town, the airport is fully international.
Due to its sheltered location and proximity to Koh Lanta with its shops, resorts, businesses etc. (and road access to the mainland via bridge and car ferry) the stretch of sea between the islands has become increasingly popular with the Yachting community, and is a convenient stopping off point between Phuket (2.5hrs by boat) and the southern islands toward Koh Lipe.
Moorings are calm, and the water depth can accommodate larger yachts and cruisers.
The land itself comprises 35 Rai of largely untouched land which slopes gently up from the beach, and offers fantastic views towards Koh Lanta as well as many other small and beautiful local Andaman sea islands.
It is positioned at the northern tip of the island, and adjoins a further 45 Rai which may also be purchased giving a total area of 80 Rai with private beach.
This larger combined area would effectively cut the island in two, running beach to beach, thus offering a unique setting.
Access to the 180 meters of private beach is via the property itself, or by private speed boat/yacht tender, and makes this a truly private beach area.
There is a small but substantial pier to service the property and any future development.
The island covers an area of 750 Rai in total, and it may be possible to negotiate the purchase of all, or any of the remaining land, and by doing so would offer the opportunity to build something quite unique in the shape of a resort and residential island with associated services and facilities.
The island is largely uninhabited except for a small community of fishermen and their families who have lived on the island for generations.
There are no roads or cars, but instead has a number of paved cycle/scooter paths which give access to other parts of this small island.
Electricity is on hand via the mainland grid which serves the island, and there is a telecommunications tower which provides good phone and internet connection.
